HEALTHCARECARE INSTITUTE is an organization, that helps to gradually increase the safety and quality of Czech healthcare through targeted projects.


In 2025, HealthCare Institute o.p.s is organizing the 20th annual professional conference " The Effective Hospital" with a focus on the strategy of health insurance companies and hospitals. This conference will be held on 25th - 26th November 2025 in Prague. Participants include founders and top management of hospitals and health insurance companies from the Czech Republic and Slovakia, including health care management experts from the European Union.

The international professional conference " The Effective Hospital 2025" will be held on 25th - 26th November 2025 at the Clarion Congress Hotel Prague - Vysočany.

We are intensively preparing the programme of the 20th annual professional conference.

A comprehensive evaluation project focused on the financial health, safety and satisfaction of outpatients, inpatients and employees of Czech hospitals. The structure of the comprehensive comparison is based on the methodology of the strategic tool for measuring the performance of organizations - Balanced Scorecard (authors: Prof. Norton and Prof. Kaplan - Harvard University, USA). The Best Hospital of the Year 2025 project will run from 1st February to 31st August 2025.

The 11th year of the national survey "Health Insurance Company of the Year 2025" aims to gradually improve the quality of services towards healthcare providers and also towards the insured. Health insurance companies are evaluated year-round in terms of financial health, insured persons, hospital directors, outpatient doctors and prevention programmes.

The 15th edition of the international project "Barometer among hospital directors" evaluated the current situation in the healthcare sector from the perspective of directors of Czech and Slovak hospitals.

Through the project "Barometer among medical students (students of 4th, 5th and 6th years of medical faculties in the Czech Republic)" we find out what number of medical students plan to look for employment in the Czech Republic after completing their studies and, on the contrary, what number of students are already decided to leave the Czech Republic and look for job offers abroad. Since 2017, this project has also been implemented among Slovak medical students.

A follow-up project to a survey of medical students. Using a questionnaire survey and subsequent analysis of the data obtained, we find out what number of students of secondary, higher vocational and university schools plan to look for employment in the Czech Republic after graduation and, on the contrary, what number of students have already decided to leave the Czech Republic and look for job offers abroad. Since 2020, this project is also being implemented among students of Slovak medical schools.

A special survey among representatives and members of 150 patient organisations in the Czech Republic, who, through a special questionnaire, assess the current situation in the Czech healthcare system and how this situation affects their members (i.e. patients - purchasers of healthcare).

A special national survey among the largest employers in the Czech Republic, where the aim is to identify, in a balanced and objective way, the current health-related problems employers have to deal with, as well as suggestions for possible solutions towards health insurance companies.
